The first hill climb event at King Edward Park was hosted by the Hunter Valley Sporting Car Club on the 28th of April 1951 as part of the Newcastle Jubilee Celebrations. We are working to renew a preliminary concept design of the Bathers Way section which runs through King Edward Park after a preliminary concept design was developed in 2014. This will extend from the previous works at The Terrace carpark, through King Edward Park, connecting to Shortland Esplanade and through to South Newcastle Beach.
